Last April, I started my official Strengths Coaching journey as I headed to Singapore to attend Gallup’s Accelerated Coaching Course.
It was a huge investment in time — one week (well, technically 4 1/2 days) of classroom training — and, more importantly, in $$$. I was sure that this was my passion, my calling, and I was bent on pursuing it no matter what so I took it as a sign that, luckily for me, I have a great family who supported this investment as well as great friends in Singapore who opened their doors for me, saving me from the city’s high lodging expenses. Still, it was pretty much a leap of faith as I did not have any concrete plans on how I was going to go about my coaching practice after the training.
Don’t get me wrong, the training was awesome. I had been doing a lot of self-study on StrengthsFinder (R) and Strengths-Based Development, but I learned so much more from our awesome trainers and from my classmates’ experiences. The training kits were loaded… a little too loaded that it was, frankly, quite overwhelming.
Unfortunately, there was nothing there about the nitty-gritty details of the business side of a coaching practice.
Fast forward a couple of months later, I had gotten my certification and started meeting with other Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches in the Philippines. It started out as simple conversations between Strengths Enthusiasts, all excited to take the #StrengthsMovementPH to a whole new level. Soon, the discussions turned to partnering and collaborating with each other — in leveraging on each other’s strengths.
Thus, STRENGTHSCOACH.PH was born. The Pioneer Team of Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches in the Philippines.
The unique blend of experiences and backgrounds not only make us a great team, but a very interesting and fun bunch. Practicing what we preach, we understand that each of us bring a unique contribution to the team and we know that together we can make a bigger impact in embedding a strengths culture into the Philippines.
I am excited for our upcoming Strengths Journey together and how we will work together to take the #StrengthsMovementPH even further.
