Here’s how you can get started with StrengthsFinder:
1. Buy an Access Code
As I’ve mentioned, taking the assessment is NOT free.
You can choose to get a code for your TOP 5 STRENGTHS ($9.99) or ALL YOUR STRENGTHS ($89.99). I suggest focusing on your TOP 5 first so that you do not fall back into the common mistake of working on your weaknesses. Besides, you can always get the rest of the list later on.
You can buy your codes at the Gallup Strengths Center.
2. TAKE the assessment
Allot 45 minutes of your time to take the assessment.
If I remember correctly, it will all be multiple choices and I encourage you to just select the first answer that comes to mind.
Don’t over-think it!
3. REVIEW your Clifton StrengthsFinder results
After the assessment, you will be taken to your dashboard where you can view your results.
Review the report and see if you can relate to the description of your strengths. This is very important. Otherwise, you will probably close yourself off from what StrengthsFinder can offer you — so far everyone I’ve talked to were able to relate.
4. READ your personalized Strengths Insight and Action-Planning Guide
This guide “… explains the unique ways you experience your strengths every day and how your strengths influence one another.”
This is an awesome tool (which was not available when I first took the assessment) and I suggest you read it in detail and work on the action items suggested. .
5. ACCELERATE your StrengthsFinder journey
