The First Thing

— No, click-bait titles are not part of my new year resolutions. Just trying out new things once in awhile! 😉

It’s a brand new year!

If you’re like me, I’m sure you are excited for the wonderful opportunities that this new year brings. You’ve probably started with your resolutions and have started coming up with plans for the next 12 months.

Plans for your work, your business, your family and your relationships.

Awesome and exciting plans I’m sure… but I’d encourage you to put those on hold first. At least for a while.

Stop focusing on all those other aspects for now.

How are you?

No, I am not concerned about your financial or physical state. I am not talking about your rise on the corporate ladder or social status. Nope, not about your love life either.

I am asking you as a person. Your well-being. Your state of mind. Your peace of mind.

I am talking about you knowing yourself. I am talking about your happiness, real happiness.

The first thing you need to do is to focus on yourself.

Cat Selfie!

Figure out who you really are. Find out what makes you happy, what makes you… you. Know who you are.

No! You will not have your answers overnight but you will slowly see glimpses of your real self.

Doing this first thing, no plans will go to waste because everything will be aligned to who you really are and what you really want.

The next question is … How does one focus on one’s self? How can one know more about one’s self? I’ll cover this in my next post.
