The truth is, there will usually be someone better than the person doing that speech and giving that lecture.
Someone else will be more inspiring. Someone else will be more knowledgeable. Someone else more eloquent. Someone else more pleasing to the eye even. Sometimes, that someone could even be you.
But focusing on this will do nothing for you. It will stop you from learning anything new. Instead, why not suspend our pride and prejudice, and listen with an open mind.
If they really are trash, you can always flush them out anyway.
Note: I was not really thinking of the Jane Austen’s book: Pride and Prejudice, when I wrote this but, for full disclosure, this was one of the first few “real” books I remember reading back in High School.
