I just finished attending a three-day workshop on Management Fundamentals, and listening was actually part of the solution in the case study we presented.

Listen Vs. Ignore - Toggle SwitchOne thing I also learned from that workshop was that listening does not *just* happen. It has to be intentional. The trainer asking us to turn off all our laptops and mobile devices acted as a sign that we were ready to listen and learn new things.

In my next meetings, I will be implementing these as well. I may make some exceptions (for urgent situations) but I really felt that I gained a lot from the workshop because I intentionally listened, so I will make sure I do the same thing going forward.
