Is Patience really a virtue?

Please do not start throwing bible verses at me and cursing me down for being blasphemous.

I ask this because a lot of the people I look up to (and some I even consider my mentors) are not really the most patient people in the world. And these are really successful individuals…

I suppose (like a lot of things I contemplate about) it again boils down to striking a balance. That although patience is a virtue… fortune favors the bold. To be more systematic about it, I would think that it is a virtue when we waiting for things and circumstances that are beyond our control. As for the rest, we should be pushing ourselves to accomplishing as much as we can.

Editor’s Note:
This topic came about from a conversation I had with a former colleague who is known for his quick temper in the office… yet able to get things done because of it.
