When I started this blog a couple of months ago, I simply wanted a venue to share my joys of being a coach, be that on the hard court or in the informal conversations that I have with friends and colleagues. I have entertained the thought of coaching professionally but never really dwelt on it. I felt it might be a little too late to really pursue this passion further.
Then an announcement from John Maxwell about a training program that he was starting for coaches. As an avid reader of his books and blogs, and a viewer of his Minute with Maxwell videos, this announcement really got me curious and excited. I thought that this may just be the way for me to get some serious training on coaching professionaly.
So I checked out the details of the program. The chance to be one fhe Founding Members of the John Maxwell Team sounded great, but just to be a regular member would have been good enough. But, the excitement soon became disappointment when I saw the price of the programs. It was simply way too steep for me.
I was pretty sure that was the end of that.
The next day, while talking to a good friend of mine about my disappointment, she mentioned that she once attended a life coaching seminar. She then said that she’d ask her life coach if she also conducts trainings for coaching.
To cut the long story short… we just finished the first training session earlier this afternoon 🙂
More on the training session soon…
