I got a message the other day from a former colleague who requested me to be the coach for my former team. As expected, despite my busy schedule (I am already playing/coaching in two basketball tournaments this summer… and, yeah, I do have a day job), I just could not say NO. It’s just really something that excites and pumps me up.
To be honest though it’s not just about my passion for coaching that made me say YES. Another reason I took this on was to have the chance to help Navitaire defend the crown.
I am expecting this season to be a lot tougher though, since some of the top players have already left the company; including the top scorers of each of the the Navitaire teams. Not only that, I am also unfamiliar with the current team roster. I was told that I still knew majority of the players but there are also some rookies/newbies in the team.
First game will be later today so I do not have the luxury of time to be familiar with them, and will have to just react to what happens during the game. ( I did ask my former colleague to warn the newbies about my coaching “style” though 😀 )
Wish us luck!
