Mom does not usually like to try out new restaurants and tend to stick to what she is used to. So, when she mentioned that she wanted to try something new, we decided to take her to Cafe Juanita along Burgos Circle.
Here’s what we ordered:
We started off with Crispy Lumpia / Spring Rolls as appetizers. It was really good. You know those ads that go “crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside”? That was exactly how it was. Definitely a must-try
Next up, we had Osso Bucco. It was really good… but, I still like K by Cunanan’s better. They had a more tender beef and a tastier sauce. And NO, I am not biased just because that was what they served during our wedding.
Finally, we had the two-way adobo. It was a mix of the “regular” adobo topped with crispy adobo flakes. I loved the contrast of the two adobos and liked mixing them up… pouring some of the adobo sauce on the flakes. I do think it’s a little too salty for my good. Salty food tend to make me eat more rice 😛
All in all, Cafe Juanita did not disappoint and I’m sure Mom will not mind us visiting this place again.
